Requirements for the Major:
The requirements for the major are shown below, with the prerequisite for each shown in parenthesis. MIS 327 is required, as it is part of the School of Business core which is taken by every student majoring in a business field.

MIS 447 Data Base Management (MIS 327) 3
MIS 467 E-Commerce (MIS 447, Fin 341, Mkt 331, Mgt 351) 3

Students have the right to move to a new program at any time during their program. If you wish to do so, then alter the Degree Audit for the new program [see page one of the program]. At the time of graduation merely inform the Registrar staff person you wish the 2015 MIS requirements to be used. Courses Descriptions:
MIS 225 Modern Programming (3) (Prerequisite: CS 150 or MATH 111 or MATH 121 or higher or permission of school) A study of concepts including problem solving, algorithm and program development, data types and operations, objects and classes, arrays and event driven programming.
MIS 337 Business Systems Analysis and Design (3) . Study of systems integration, the analysis of existing systems, and the design of new systems.
MIS 347 Business Data Communications (3) . Analysis of technical and management problems and issues associated with the use of data communication technology in business.
MIS 447 Data Base Management (3) Advantages and disadvantages of a DBMS, DASD concepts, applied data structures, data definition language, data manipulation language, hierarchical data models, relational data models, network data models, database design, operations in an on-line environment, database administration, and current trends.
MIS 467 E-Commerce – Data Driven Web Application Design (3) E-Commerce focuses on webpage design beginning with the development of static webpages and progressing to dynamic webpage design and incorporating database content in the webpage using server-side and client-side script languages.
