Mary R. Dittman is an Instructor of Business and Director of the Internship Program atFrancis Marion University and recipient of the 2006-2007 Excellence in Teaching Award. She received the Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from the University ofNevada, Reno and the Master of Business Administration from Francis Marion University.
She teaches a variety of business courses and has created the first-ever Business Internship Program, which affords FMU students the opportunity to work in local businesses while in school. She manages several special projects within the School ofBusiness, including alumni relations and creation of advisory boards.
She is the faculty advisor for Zeta Tau Alpha and Delta Sigma Pi. She founded Omicron Upsilon Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi in 2006 and has started a chapter of Young Professionals FMU. She is a Senator on FMU’s Faculty Senate, serves on the Faculty Nominating Committee and on the Business School Nominating Committee.
She volunteers with many campus organizations, and is a speaker of choice at numerous campus organization meetings and functions.
In the community, Professor Dittman is Chair of the Marketing Committee for the Florence Downtown Development Corporation, member of the Florence Branding Steering Committee, serves as Vice-Chair on the Board of Directors of Young Professionals of Florence, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Performing Arts Center Foundation. She also does consulting work in the area of marketing for various local and regional companies. She is a regular contributing author to Inner Views Magazine in the area of personal finance.
Professor Dittman is Past President of the Pee Dee Business & Professional Women's Network, and a member of the American Marketing Association, Delta Sigma Pi, Omicron Delta Kappa and Beta Gamma Sigma. She is also a graduate of the 2003-2004 Class of Executive Leadership Florence.
