The Francis Marion
University Theatre's 2012-13 season's fall
production will be Our
Town by Thornton Wilder,
directed by professor Glen Gourley. It
will be performed in the Fine Arts Theater in
Hyman Fine Arts Center on campus.
This timeless drama of life in the mythical
village of Grover's Corners, New Hampshire, has
become an American classic with universal
appeal. Thornton Wilder's most frequently
performed play, Our Town appeared on
Broadway in 1938 to wide acclaim, and won the
Pulitzer Prize. From the very beginning, Our
Town has been produced in amateur and
professional theatres around the world.
RESERVATIONS:
Reservations for
Our Town may be made
beginning October 8 by calling the box office
at 661-1365. The box office will be open to
reserve seats Monday through Friday from 1 pm
to 5 pm. All tickets are free to the
public. Curtain is at 7:30.
The Francis Marion University Theatre's
2012-2013 season's winter production, And Baby Makes Seven by
Paula Vogel, will be directed by professor
Dawn Larsen and performed in the downtown
Performing Arts Center's black box theatre
February 18-23, 2013. The season will
close with The Book of Liz by
David Sedaris, directed by professor Keith
Best and performed in the Hyman Fine Arts
Center April 11-13, 2013.
