Placement of Art Education graduates
The
vast majority of the graduates from the Francis Marion University art
education program find work in their field. A large number are
working as art teachers in the Pee Dee Region, with most of the rest
working in other parts of South Carolina and the United States.
Several FMU art education alumni have received honors for outstanding
teaching, such as district-wide and school-wide "Teacher of the Year"
awards, and for community service.
The State of South Carolina has been widely recognized as a leader in
art education, and the alumni of the FMU art education program have had
a particularly strong impact and influence in art education practice in
the state. Many of the alumni are actively involved in the South
Carolina Art Education Association and the National Art Education
Association, and several have achieved leadership roles within the
field and within their communities.
