General Information

To advance to higher level biology courses, a student must have a grade of C or higher in the prerequisite biology course.

Students planning graduate studies in biology are advised to complete both organic chemistry I & II as well as biochemistry. It could also be useful to take a course in statistics and introductory courses in calculus. We also recommend that they participate in at least two semesters of Biology 497 with a faculty researcher (one credit hour of reading and planning followed by two credit hours of independent research).
