rflannagan@fmarion.eduIf you're interested in writing and talking about writing, plan on attending Francis Marion University's annual Pee Dee Fiction and Poetry Festival. Four nationally known and best-selling authors and poets, and their avid readers, will descend upon the university Nov. 10 and 11 at this year's Festival, which is free and open to the public.
The two-day Festival will celebrate and promote literature and reading with renowned authors Angela Flournoy, Phil Klay, Aimee Nezhukumatathil, and Catherine Pierce. During the day, writers will talk about writing and their works in various panel discussions. Each evening, two writers will read from their work. All readings will be followed by a book signing, as well as a reception at The Cottage on Francis Marion's campus. You can bring your own copies of books by these writers, but books will also be on sale during the day. Come and enjoy a day of reading and talking about texts with writers and readers in the community and on campus.
Take a closer look at the wonderful authors you'll be able to meet at the Fiction & Poetry Festival.
OK, so you know the festival is at Francis Marion, but how do you get here? In which building is the festival being held? How do you get to the auditorium? Find out here.
Yourself and a friend! Also, if you have any works by the authors, bring those so the authors can sign them. If you don't own any of the works by the authors, books will be available for purchase.
