Both Ms. Tena and Ms. Catherine used this pot when they lived in these houses. Ms. Catherine had a stove so she did not have to use this type of fireplace pot; she used it because it was big, the size she needed for her large family. Archie Waiters liked to recall the strange pot that his grandmother used to cook biscuits in the fireplace. He called it a spider. It had four legs and a lid, and she put coals under it and over it.
