Carolina Library seemed to have only three such
photos. This photo looks like
a sharecropper’s family—the whole family working together
and putting all the cotton they picked on a common sheet. The head of the family received
a share of the income from the sale of the cotton to pay
him for all the work that he and his family had done on
the cotton crop all year long. (Photo
