||Mars Bluff Gin-House Books
eleven small record books, dated in the 1920s, were from
the cotton gin that stood behind the Mars Bluff depot. The books state the amount of cotton
brought in to the gin, whose cotton it was, the weight of
the seeds taken out, and the weight of the bales of
cotton. These books were
given to the hewn-timber cabins collection in 1995 by the
estate of Amelia M. Wallace and are in the Arundel Room,
Rogers Library, Francis Marion University.
