| Searching for Connections
Because Mars Bluff is the old name for the area around Francis Marion University the big map is named "Mars Bluff Words Are Clues that Point to Various Places in Africa." This map lists words that were used by people in this area and traces these words to specific ethnic groups in Africa. This attempt to establish even a tenuous connection with specific people in Africa represents a healthy search for the sources of our African heritage.
